Bride of the Week – Nicole Gallagher

On this wet and windy Wednesday I thought I would share some sunny snaps of the lovely Nicole Gallagher who got married in Portugal last July – Myself and my assistant flew over the day before to soak up a few rays and enjoy the lovely atmosphere. The Summer months are so busy for me that it was perfect timing to get a couple of days away.

Nicole got married on the 21st of July in Igreja Se Cathedral in Faro, Portugal, followed by a reception in Casa Do Lago restaurant in Quinta Do Lago.

Her dress was by Pronovias and she bought it in Kathy De Stafford on Exchequer Street. The bridesmaids dresses were from Folkster in Temple Bar.

Nicole decided to bring me over for her wedding day as she was worried about locating a make up artist in the Algarve and had her make up done with me before – She felt as most brides do “if your make up doesn’t look good, your photos won’t either.”

I got married abroad too and it really does give you the best of both worlds – The weather is a huge plus and your guests generally make a holiday out of the few days away so the party atmosphere is sure to last !!

” I just wanted to say a quick thank you for the amazing make up you did for myself and the girls for my wedding. It lasted all day in the heat, and we all got so many compliments on it. The make up turned out really nice in the photos and was exactly how I wanted it. You were so nice and professional on the day and I have, and will, recommend you to all of my friends. ”

Mrs Makeup’s Top tips for heat resistant make up.

A good quality primer is key, one of my favourites is Laura Mercier or Benefit Pore fessional.

Your foundation needs to be a light to medium consistency nothing too heavy or full just incase some might wear off through perspiration. My favourite is EstΓ©e Lauder Double Wear Light or Mac Pro Longwear.

The 3rd and final step is a good setting powder, this will keep the make up in place and absorb any moisture. My favourite is Mac prep & prime translucent loose powder or Mac studio fix powder.

Hope these tips help
