On Monday I was delighted to be on air for my 4th Make up segment with Ireland AM. The talk of the town (aka Twitter) was The Golden Globes Awards, which was held on Sunday night in L.A. Myself and the producers of Ireland AM decided to recreate the look for the most coveted award “Best performance by an actress in a motion picture” the winner being Brie Larson.
The stunning Brie (pictured above) wore a gold heavily embellished dress made for her by Calvin Klein. Her make up was beautiful and very Hollywood. Radiant youthful skin, nicely defined eyes and soft skin toned lips.
After a very successful year for world renowned make up artist Charlotte Tilbury having launched her make up line in Brown Thomas I knew it would be the right choice to use for my segment.(Shop Here)
Every aspect of Charlotte’s collection is old and new Hollywood Glamour. The textures of her emollient based products are like silk they make you always want to use your fingers. Her eyeshadows and eye pencils are so pigmented and blend-able. Her key ingredients are the deal breaker, nearly all of her skin care products have hyleronic acid in them to firm, plump and hydrate the skin. The skincare and foundations are youth boosting and let’s face it.. who doesn’t want to look younger 😉
On my beautiful model Abbie I started with some WonderGlow which is a staple product in my everyday kit. ALL of my brides get this on before foundation but after moisturiser.
Wonderglow (pictured) is youth elixir with soft focus particals to give you that dreamy glow! It has Hyleronic acid to plump, firm and hydrate the skin.
I then moved onto foundation and with Abbie’s glorious 17 year old skin to work on, I mixed Light wonder in shades 1&2 as she is quite fair skinned. This is a youth boosting foundation with a botanical alternative to retinol and is water basedand long wearing. I feel in love with this foundation instantly, it was so radiant on camera.
I began the contour with Filmstar bronzer, this duo palette is inspired by the silver screen sirens to perfectly shape ,sculpture and highlight you natural features. I couldn’t believe the colour pay off from this product, it’s really build-able.
I think most people know I love a gold and bronze eyeshadow, I think it works so well on most people. Charlotte Tilbury’s eyeshadow pallets bring you from dawn, dusk to disco. A quad with different tones and textures but all complimentary to complete a full eye look. I used Dolce Vita & Golden Goddess. To finish the look I smudged Rock&Roll “Bedroom Black” eye Kohl along the lash line and added some Full fat mascara to her lashes.
To finish our Brie Larson inspired look I applied “Nude Kate” K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick. These lipsticks have a secret ingredient from a flower that comes from a tree called “the kissing tree” in South America. It protects and hydrates the lips! I complimented this with a softly applied lip pencil in Pillow talk.
All the brushes I used were by the Irish dynamic duo Paula Callan and Derrick Carberry, two of Ireland’s elite make up artists. I had the pleasure of working and being trained by them both in my early days working in Mac cosmetics. Their brushes are available in Brown Thomas, Arnott’s Department stores or online at www.callanberry.com and are also recently being sold in Selfridges in London.
If you are on the lookout for luxury, natural haired brushes of outstanding quality these brushes are an investment. A navy handle and a gold detailed funnel make these brushes all the more designer and luxurious.
Finally I would like to say a very special thank you to the wonderful Danielle from Coco Boutique ( Check out their website HERE ) for my beautiful dress and earrings. Danielle also gave me a pair of Chelsea beautique “Mink” lashes which are available in her store on Clarendon street. You can re-use these up to 15 times once they are looked after. (I wore them for Ireland AM in style no. 10)
